The game takes place among the locations of the fictional floating in the sky of the world called Cocoon, which the government, Sanctum, sends down its citizens suspected in connection with the pulse, big scary world below. A female soldier codenamed Lightning throws a challenge to the authorities and to fight them to save his sister, chosen by the gods Pulse and became an enemy of Cocoon. Soon it joined the other characters, and they all become the same elected to perform some unknown purpose.
